Behind the Lens: The Newborn Photographer Diaries

Ep. 5: Cozy Studio Chat: Newborn Photography Unpopular Opinions

Arielle and Jackie Season 1 Episode 5

After a little unplanned hiatus, we’re back in the studio together and keeping it light, real, and a little unhinged (in the best way). We’re fresh off photographing the cutest chunky-cheeked baby with a full day of Christmas setups, lots of lighting experiments, and plenty of banter.

In this episode, we dive into unpopular opinions in newborn photography like whether photographers care more about perfect poses than parents do, if froggy is overrated, why prep guides matter, what “booked out” really means, and why newborn safety should be a bare minimum not a marketing strategy. We also chat about boundaries, burnout, being present with our own kids, and doing business in a way that actually works for real life.
